The State of ALICE: 2026 Update on Financial Hardship offers an in-depth look at households that can’t afford
the basics and the challenges they face every day. The latest data reveals that 39% of Ellis County households
are living below the ALICE Threshold. These include households living in poverty and households that are ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), with income above the Federal Poverty Level but not enough to make ends meet.
We're committed to strengthening the United Way Network across Ellis County through collaboration, community leadership, and data-informed decision-making so the evolving needs of our neighbors continue to be met. Watch for details about our upcoming Community Conversations, also known as ALICE Data Walks, and plan to join us as we bring people, organizations, and data together to better understand our community's challenges and shape a stronger future for Ellis County.
